                                                           MINUTES

 

The meeting of the Capital Outlay Committee was held at 7:00 pm in the Selectmen's Meeting room and was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chair Paul Linehan.

 

Members Present:

SECTION I:  Administrative Items

 

1.  Chair Paul Linehan requested that the Capital Outlay Committee  

     members introduce themselves.

 

2.      Approval of November  15, 2012 Minutes

VOTED:  (5-0-1)   Voted to accept the Regular Session Minutes of November 15, 2012 

 

SECTION II: General Business

           

1.      High School Track (deliberation and voting)

 

MOTION was made by Gordon Gladstone and seconded by Veronica Wiseman to authorize $165,000 for the Sharon High School Track replacement.    

 

VOTED:  (5-1-0) to authorize $165,000 for the Sharon High School Track.

 

 

2.       Sharon Public School Capital Outlay Requests FY2014 

 

The following Capital Outlay Requests were discussed by Director of School Dept. of Maintenance and Operations, Ken Wertz and School Director of Technology, John Marcus:

a.       Cottage Street School Facilities

b.      East Elementary School Facilities

c.       Heights Elementary School Facilities

d.      Sharon High School Facilities

e.       Technology Hardware (East & Cottage-Upgrade iMac-Computers in Elementary-Interactive White Boards)

f.       Special Education Hardware and Facilities

g.      Athletics (Equipment)

h.      Maintenance (Vehicles-School Street Repairs)

i.        Food Services - Replace Purchase of Sale (POS)System

      

         $848,484 – which includes $165,000 for the Sharon High School Track

         $683,484 – not including the $165,000 for the Sharon High School Track

                            (has been approved by COC)

              

3.  Future Meetings and Agenda Items

           

                        December 13, 2012 – Selectmen Sector Capital Requests

                       (Selectmen’s Meeting Room at 7:00 PM)
